For urinary symptoms related to enlarged prostate (BPH), we offer a variety of medical and surgical treatment options. Each patient receives a personalized treatment approach with the aid of in-office diagnostic testing, including cystoscopy, urodynamic testing, urine flow studies, and ultrasound, as needed.

If surgical treatment is recommended, we have many years of experience incorporating minimally invasive prostate treatments to improve your quality of life. We offer in-office procedures including Rezum™ steam therapy UroLift® prostatic lift. Office procedures can be completed under local anesthesia or under sedation with a board-certified anesthesiologist.

We also offer hospital-based surgical options, including Greenlight® laser prostatectomy, transurethral resection or vaporization of the prostate (TURP), and prostatectomy.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a very common problem that affects more than 3 million men of all ages. It may be caused by psychological issues or certain underlying health conditions.

We offer a variety of options for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, from simple medical therapies to more advanced treatment options.

We are one of the largest implanters of penile prostheses in the region. If you are suffering from ED, there is always something that can be done to improve your quality of life.

Approximately 10% of the adult US population will experience a kidney stone at some point during their life. Unfortunately, many people will have more than one episode. Stones are often quite painful and can be associated with urinary tract infections as well as damage to the kidneys.

At New Jersey Urology, we strive to provide comprehensive management of all patients with kidney stones. Most patients can be seen with same day or next day appointments, since prompt care is of the utmost importance.

Once the diagnosis is made, our physicians will provide a complete review of the individual management options, taking into consideration the stone size, location, and ongoing symptoms. While some patients can be observed with small stones to allow for passage, many require minimally invasive intervention.

We offer a full range of stone treatment options, including lithotripsy, ureteroscopy, and percutaneous stone extraction for large, complex stones. Our physicians are well versed in all of these treatment options, and have unique expertise in the percutaneous approach. We are one of the few groups in the region that carry out percutaneous stone extraction without the assistance of interventional radiology. We assess the three-dimensional anatomy of large complex stones and determine the best access to the kidney to allow for complete stone removal in the safest possible manner. Subsequently, the entire process is done under the direction of a single physician in the operating room without the need for a secondary procedure in radiology.

Once the acute episode has resolved, stone prevention is of the utmost importance. Our physicians provide a tailored approach, ranging from dietary recommendations for first-time stone formers, to comprehensive metabolic evaluation including blood and urine testing for recurrent patients. We can provide a detailed prevention plan to greatly reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

At New Jersey Urology, our urologic cancer surgeons are at the forefront of advanced treatment techniques with a level of precision unmatched by most surgeons in the country.

Since 2008, we have performed the most urologic robotic surgeries in the region. Our expertise in robotic surgery extends our abilities beyond the removal of prostate cancer to the successful treatment of urologic diseases involving the bladder, kidneys, adrenal glands, and reconstructive urologic surgery for both men and women.

Operating at Capital Health Hopewell, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, and St. Francis Medical Center, we take pride in treating your complex urologic issues with the latest technology in the least invasive manner possible for the best outcomes.

Sexual health is important for one’s well-being. Conditions such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and low libido/sexual desire may be indicative of hormonal deficiencies or imbalances.

Additionally, low testosterone has been associated with decreased physical and mental performance, development of metabolic disorders such as diabetes and osteoporosis, as well as psychoneurologic conditions such as depression, anxiety and dementia.

We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of low testosterone and sexual dysfunction by offering patients individualized, evidence-based care plans using the latest research in nutritional supplementation, hormonal replacement and procedural options such as Testopel® and MonaLisa Touch® Laser Therapy to optimize sexual health.

Urinary incontinence is a common problem that affects both men and women. Incontinence occurs when the bladder does not store urine properly. There are two common types:

  1. Stress Incontinence occurs when there is a ‘stress’, generating outside pressure to the bladder (coughing, sneezing, changing from sitting to standing, dancing, exercising).
  2. Urge Incontinence occurs when one senses the urge to urinate, but urine begins to exit the urethra before being able to make it to the bathroom.

When conventional treatment options such as lifestyle changes, pelvic floor physical therapy (kegel exercises), and medications are not effective, we offer surgical treatment options for unwanted incontinence.

For stress incontinence, treatments offered include mid-urethral slings and urethral bulking agents. For urge incontinence, treatments offered include Botox® injections to the bladder and ‘bladder stimulators’ such as InterStim® therapy. For continuous incontinence, we offer implantation of an artificial urinary sphincter (AUS).

While not uncommon, infections of the urinary system can be uncomfortable at the very least, but also have the potential to cause bleeding, chronic pain, organ failure and mental decline.

At New Jersey Urology, we use our expertise and latest research in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of urinary infections. We offer proven solutions using natural therapies and evidence-based medicine, as well as minimally invasive diagnostic and surgical procedures.

Using the latest in diagnostic technology, such as PCR urine testing, we are often able to find and eliminate urinary infections that have persisted through multiple rounds of antibiotics given by urgent care and primary care providers.
